Syrian Army Says Israel Carried Out Airstrikes On Their T-4 Military Base Near The City Of Homs In Western Syria

A Syrian Army source reported that the Israeli Air Force carried out an airstrike on the T-4 Military Airbase near the city of Homs in western Syria, according to the Syrian state news agency SANA.

Just yesterday we reported about unidentified airstrikes happening in Syria, and today, Syria is claiming that Israel has been bombing their military installations and that is probably quite accurate. Israel has to routinely bomb these facilities in Syria because they house Iranian forces and equipment, which is how Iran wages war with Israel by proxy through Syria. Israel has been forced into the unenviable position of have to consistently not only defend themselves from Muslim aggression, but to be ever vigilant and do preemptive strikes as well. As along as there as Israelis who remember the Six Day War, they stand a pretty good chance of not being taken by surprise.

The attack caused material damage and most of the missiles were shot down, according to the Syrian Army. Airstrikes blamed on Israel have targeted the T-4 airbase in the past. The Syrian army statement said the Israeli war jets flew from Tanf, to the southeast, where the United States has set up a base near the Iraqi-Jordanian border.
Simultaneously, explosions were heard in the Deir Ezzor area of eastern Syria near sites belonging to Syrian regime forces. A series of airstrikes by unidentified aircraft targeted Iranian-backed militias in Deir Ezzor near the city of Al-Bukamal in the past week.
At least eight people of non-Syrian nationality were killed and a large number were wounded in attacks by unidentified aircraft on pro-Iranian militias along the Syrian-Iraqi border near Al-Bukamal on Thursday night, according to SOHR.
SOHR reported last week that Iran-backed militias had reportedly evacuated their headquarters in Al-Bukamal and spread throughout orchards on the banks of the Euphrates River. The IRGC is reportedly seizing civilian houses in the Deir Ezzor area in eastern Syria.
Over 20 Syrian fighters defected from an Iranian-backed militia in the area of Al-Mayadin due to fears of attacks by ISIS and the United States, according to the observatory. Dozens of the Syrian regime force members and a pro-regime militia in Deir Ezzor defected and moved to areas controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces, a largely Kurdish force, after repeated airstrikes on positions in Al-Bukamal carried out by the coalition and unidentified aircraft.
The reported airstrikes come as tensions remain high in the region in the aftermath of the US assassination of former Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani and a subsequent retaliatory missile attack by the IRGC on US bases in Iraq. Iranian militias in the area are on high alert. READ MORE
