Prophecy News Headlines

Israelis and Palestinians have agreed to a nine-month timeline for final-status negotiations, a US State Department official revealed early Monday afternoon, hours before peace talks were set to officially begin in Washington. “This is the beginning of final-status arrangements on a nine-month timetable,” said State Department Spokeswoman Jen Psaki.. .... Click here for full story
If our leaders could have recognized the signs ahead of time, do you think that they could have prevented the financial crisis of 2008? That is a very timely question, because so many of the warning signs that we saw just before and during the last financial crisis are popping up again. Many of the things that are happening right now in the stock market, the bond market, the real estate market and in the overall economic data are eerily similar to what we witnessed back in 2008 and 2009. It is almost as if we are being forced to watch some kind of a perverse replay of previous events, only this time our economy and our financial system are much weaker than they were the last time around......  Click here for full story
There is ample reason to believe that the latest round of Israeli-Palestinian peace talks, getting underway Monday in Washington, will end in failure, well before the nine months slated for them are up. Conventional wisdom says that the “direct final status negotiations,” as they are referred to by the US State Department, are doomed to fall apart because the maximum Netanyahu can offer is far less than Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas can accept.......  Click here for full story

Is Your Cable Box Spying On You?
“Watching the watchers” is taking on a whole new meaning. News that Google may be developing a television set-top box with a motion sensor and video camera has rekindled the debate over technology that can record so-called ambient action. Should a TV-mounted box have the ability to track our movements, record our voices and monitor our behaviors? Should cable providers and tech companies be allowed to collect such information without our consent? .....  Click here for full story

U.S. Army Foresees Robots Becoming Squad Members
The Army is using robots, such as semi-autonomous vehicles, mainly as dumb tools. However, the military has a different vision of the future of robotics and how the machines will fit in a soldier's life at home base, as well as on the battlefield. In 20 to 40 years, humanoid robots, using human tools, could precede soldiers into dangerous areas, performing tasks such as turning a wrench to open valves, opening doors and climbing ladders. Some day, the Army might send autonomous robots into battle to physically engage with the enemy. .... Click here for full story

Scientists stop light completely for a record-breaking MINUTE by trapping it inside a crystal

Researchers at Darmstadt Technical University achieved the remarkable feat by trapping it in a crystal.
In a paper published this month in the journal Physical Review Letters, the scientists explained how they stopped the light using a technique called electromagnetically induced transparency.
Crystal clear: scientists found they could trap light inside a crystal for up to sixty seconds
Crystal clear: scientists found they could trap light inside a crystal for up to sixty seconds
At full pelt, light would normally travel about 11 million miles in one minute – equivalent to more than 20 round trips to the moon.
'One minute is extremely, extremely long,' Thomas Krauss, Professor of optoelectronics at the University of St Andrews, UK, commented to the New Scientist. 'This is indeed a major milestone.'
The physicists, Professor Thomas Halfmann, Christian Hubrich and PhD student Georg Heinze, also used the same technique to store and then retrieve an image consisting of three stripes. 'We showed you can imprint complex information on your light beam,' said researcher Georg Heinze.
The results may further light-based research and could make it possible to store data within beams of light, which could then be sent over long distances. It could also give experts clues on accelerating light beyond the universal speed limit.
Light fantastic: the discovery by Professor Halfmann (left), Christian Hubrich and Georg Heinze (right) could enable data to be stored within beams of light
Halfmann and his colleagues fired a control laser beam at an opaque crystal, triggering a quantum reaction that turned the crystal transparent.
Then they directed a second light source at the now-transparent crystal. The control laser was then turned off, turning the crystal opaque.
The light from the secondary source remained trapped inside the crystal.
In addition, the opacity meant that the light inside could no longer bounce around — in other words, the light had been stopped.
Through multiple trials, the team was then able to extend the period of time in which the light remained halted within the crystal until they reached the record-breaking minute.
Heinze said it should even be possible to achieve longer light storage times with other crystals, because they have pushed their current material close to its physical limit.
Although light normally travels at just under 300 million metres per second in a vacuum, this is not the first time scientists have managed to halt it. In 1999 physicists managed to slow light down to just 17 metres per second and then halt it completely two years later, though only for a fraction of a second.
Earlier this year, researchers kept it still for 16 seconds using cold atoms.

WASHINGTON – Lloyd’s of London, the world’s specialist insurance company providing services to companies in more than 200 countries, has issued a dire warning of the potential consequences of an electromagnetic pulse event from a solar storm, according to report from Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin.

Lloyd’s study, titled “Solar Storm Risk to the North American Electric Grid,” centered on the highly populated region from New York City to Washington, D.C., but added that other high-risk regions are in the Midwest and in regions along the Gulf Coast.
The fact a major insurance company is looking at the economic consequences of an EMP from a direct solar storm suggests there is increasing concern in the insurance industry that companies may be facing the danger of severe economic losses.
As a major trend setter in the insurance world, Lloyd’s unusual warning about the effects from an EMP could have an impact on insurance company coverage.
“A severe space weather event that causes major disruption to the electric network in the U.S. could have major implications for the insurance industry,” the Lloyd’s study said. “If businesses, public services and households are without power for sustained periods of time, insurers may be exposed to business interruption and other claims.”
Sources suggest insurance companies could begin requiring companies they insure make sufficient efforts to harden their electronics to protect their companies, especially since companies now can collect insurance for work stoppage due to electrical outages.
“A severe space weather event that causes major disruption to the electricity network in North America could have major implications for the insurance industry,” the study said. “The total U.S. population at risk of an extended outage from a Carrington-level storm ranges between 20-40 million with durations up to 1-2 years.”
Some experts suggest an EMP with this catastrophic effect on major U.S. urban centers could, in effect, wipe out city populations because of their dependency on those critical infrastructures that rely on electricity, electronics and automated control systems to exist.
Sources say that it is curious that a British insurance company would center on the effects of an EMP on U.S. cities rather than in Britain, which has decided to undertake efforts to harden its national electrical grid system. They add, if the United States doesn’t take action, the effects will have profound effects on the world economy.
Saying that the corridor between Washington, D.C., and New York City is at serious risk, the impact on a society that is increasingly dependent on electricity is “likely to be severe and wide-ranging,” the report said.
The 1859 Carrington event is regarded as the most severe solar storm recorded in U.S. history. It occurred 154 years ago. The Lloyd’s study warned, however, that such “very extreme storms” occur every 150 years.

Interesting fact here one of my brothers sent me. Churchill certainly had foresight! I can’t confirm it’s true, but the source reference is given at the end, and the speech is on Wikipedia.

Winston Churchill 1899.
"Individual Muslims may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it.  No stronger retrograde force exists in the world."

This is amazing.  Even more amazing is that this hasn't been published long before now.

Unbelievably, the speech below was written in 1899... (check Wikipedia - The River War).

The attached short speech from Winston Churchill, was delivered by him in 1899 when he was a young soldier and journalist.  It probably sets out the current views of many, but expresses in the wonderful Churchillian turn of phrase and use of the English language, of which he was a past master.  Sir Winston Churchill was, without doubt, one of the greatest men of the late 19th and 20th centuries.

He was a brave young soldier, a brilliant journalist, an extraordinary politician and statesman, a great war leader and British Prime Minister, to whom the Western world must be forever in his debt.  He was a prophet in his own time.  He died on 24th January 1965, at the grand old age of 90 and, after a lifetime of service to his country, was accorded a State funeral.

"How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries!  Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy.  The effects are apparent in many countries, improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live.

A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement, the next of its dignity and sanctity.  The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.

Individual Muslims may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it.  No stronger retrograde force exists in the world.  Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant andproselytizing faith.  It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome ..."

Israelis speak out for religious freedom on Temple Mount

Wednesday, July 24, 2013 |  Jonathan David Share on yahoomail

Recently, Knesset member Danny Danon (Likud) said it’s time for Jews to have religious freedom to pray on the Temple Mount. Israel Today’s Jonathan David talked to Israelis on the streets of Jerusalem to get their reaction.
Amity Lerer: “Yes, it’s important. They say it in the Knesset (parliament), but they don’t really want to do it because they’re afraid of the Arabs.”
Aline Szewkeis: “I think it’s important for everybody to have freedom of religion in Israel. My particular opinion is I think we can give the Temple Mount to all religions.”
Rali Ben David: “It’s not important to me because I’m secular, but it’s important to the Jews. I think they should give us the ability to pray over there.”
Arlene Alyehs: “It’s the site of our Temple and there’s no reason for the Arabs to have control of the Temple Mount, except that the Jews are always giving in to them in hopes of peace. If there’s any restrictions it should be on the Arabs, but that may be too much to hope for.”
Eliran Maalumi: “Yeah, religious freedom is important, because it’s Israel. It’s the Jewish land.”
Naom Shiff: “I think that if everyone had religious freedom on the Temple Mount, it would create a friction that wouldn’t be good for the area.”
Agee Gottdiemer: “The rabbis say otherwise, at least certain rabbis. They say it’s forbidden to ascend the Temple Mount.”
Tamar Roller: “It is important to me, but because I’m a religious Jew, I know that it’s not the time of our redemption yet. So, I know that whenever God redeems us, the mosque will be demolished and our Temple will be built over there. Now, we have to fix ourselves internally and be better Jews and do whatever God wants us to do.”
Yosef Simon: “Religious freedom on the mountain site is based on the purity of the Jewish people. A lot of Jewish religious people don’t hold that you should really go up there unless we have the right purity… It’s important that the Messiah will come, because the Messiah will actually tell us the right way to purify ourselves.”

Muslim Anger over Virtual ‘Third Temple’

Maayana Miskin

A Jewish website that aims to teach Israelis about the Temple has been met with an angry backlash from the Arab Muslim community.
The Har Hakodesh (lit. “The Holy Mountain”) website includes educational material about the history of the Temple Mount, which was the site of the First Temple and Second Temple. The Temples were the focus of divine service for the Jewish nation.
The site also includes stunning photographs of the Temple Mount, including pictures taken by a non-Jewish photographer from parts of the Mount which Jews may not enter.
What has caused upset in the Muslim world is a representation of the Temple Mount as it would appear with a rebuilt Jewish Temple atop it rather than Al-Aqsa Mosque that currently stands there.
The site has been repeatedly targeted by hackers, and has been the focus of criticism in the Arab media. Sheikh Raed Salah, who heads the hardline northern branch of the Islamic Movement in Israel, has called for an “Islamic awakening” in response to the website.
Arutz Sheva spoke to Boaz Yaakovi, from the Lev Hauma NGO behind the website. “We didn’t do this to provoke or to annoy the Arabs,” Yaakovi insisted.
“We’re presenting history as it was,” he argued.
When asked whether he sees the simulation of the Third Temple as provocative, he said, “If someone wants to get angry, what can I do? Because he’s angry, I should ignore my truth?”
The desire to see a rebuilt Temple is central to traditional Judaism, and the Amidah prayer, which religious Jews recite three times daily, calls for the Temple to be rebuilt.

US And Russia Simultaneously Announce Intent To Arm Opposing Sides In Syria

Barack Obama Vladimir Putin

In an almost palpable irony, Russian and U.S. officials simultaneously announced their intent to move forward with controversial arms transfers to opposing sides in the Syrian civil war Monday.
If there were any doubts about the proxy nature of Syria for the two sides, the announcements should put them to bed.
Congressional hurdles have been lifted and weapons will soon flow into the hands of Syrian rebels,  according to a Reuters report
"We believe we are in a position that the administration can move forward," House of Representatives Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers told Reuters Monday.
Half a world away, a representative of Syria's embattled President Bashar al Assad left a meeting with Russia's foreign minister Sergei Lavrov in Moscow.
“All agreements between Russia and Syria in the area of arms deliveries are in place,” said Qadri Jamil on Monday. “The contracts continue and are in force.”
The representative of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad also asked Russia for a monetary loan, one that Moscow is still as of yet considering.
Meanwhile, the weapons Russia intends to deliver are of the S300 surface-to-air variety — which make enforcing a Western-backed no-fly zone all that much more dangerous, not to mention improbable.
The weapons transfers for the Americans have met resistance from within Washington political ranks. Vetting rebel groups in the middle of a civil war is a very difficult process.
"I think we also have to expect that some of the weapons we provide are going to get into the hands of those who would use them against us," Representative Adam Schiff, a Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, told Reuters.
Washington has urged Russia not to arm Assad — especially with weapons that can threaten Israeli airliners in Israeli airspace and, importantly, block Israel from further strikes in Syria.
Israel has outright told Russia that any S300 shipments would be destroyed.  Analysts have said bombing those systems would result in Russian casualties .
In the thick of it all, Lavrov leaves his meeting with the Syrian rep and states that Assad is ready to talk peace.
All the U.S. has to do is bring the opposition forces to the table.

Six Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood high ranking officials flee to Gaza, and set up command post for uprising!!
DEBKAfile Exclusive Report July 22, 2013.

A group of six Muslim Brotherhood officials escaped from Egypt after their president was overthrown in a military coup July 3 and smuggled themselves into the Gaza Strip to lead an uprising against the military in Cairo, DEBKAfile’s exclusive intelligence sources disclose. Headed by Mahmud Izzat Ibrahim, a senior deputy of the Supreme Guide, the group has established a command post at the Gaza Beach Hotel, to organize operations against Egyptian military and security targets, in conjunction with Hamas and armed Al Qaeda-linked Salafist Bedouin in Sinai.

The ousted Islamist leaders hope their revolt will quickly spread out from Sinai to Egypt proper and topple the provisional rulers in Cairo.
Mahmoud Izzat, a doctor of medicine, known as the Muslim Brotherhood’s “iron man,” ranks fourth after Supreme Guide Muhammed Badie in the Muslim Brotherhood hierarchy. He was a key figure in handing down the policy decisions of the Guidance Office, of which he has been a member since 1981, to the movement’s Freedom and Justice Party in government and parliament.
Married to a former supreme guide’s daughter, he was imprisoned in 1995 as leader of an illegal organization, and jailed again in January 2008 for participating in
Cairo demonstrations against an Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip.

DEBKAfile: The MB leadership picked Mahmoud Izzat as the man best able to command the movement’s mutiny against its successors in
Our sources reveal that the group escaped from Egypt using the Hamas networks which operated underground in Egypt during the Mubarak presidency. In February 2011, when Mubarak was on his way out, those networks came out of hiding to engineer the mass jailbreak of Brotherhood leaders, including Morsi himself.
To bypass Egyptian military and police roadblocks on Sinai roads, Hamas provided Izzat and his fellow Brethren with smugglers’ boats that ply the
Mediterranean sea route between Alexandria and Gaza.
Saturday, July 20, the Egyptian army imposed a total blockade on sea craft traffic along the Mediterranean coasts of Gaza and Sinai and clamped down heavily on other means of access to the Gaza Strip. Army engineers are destroying the hundreds of smuggling tunnels linking Sinai and the Palestinian enclave, which were an integral part of Gaza’s economy under Hamas rule.
Last week, Egyptian Apache gun ships flew overhead to warn the Palestinian rulers that their movements was under surveillance.

DEBKAfile’s military sources report that, in view of the Gaza Strip’s key role in abetting the uprising, the Egyptian army may decide to kick off its counter-terror operation in Sinai by dropping elite forces in
Gaza by air or sea for commandeering the Beach Hotel and detaining the six Muslim Brotherhood leaders. They would be brought to Cairo and tried on charges of instigating revolt.
Egypt’s military rulers don’t credit Hamas protests denying they collaborated with the Brotherhood’s actions in defiance of the military. They point to the new terrorist network in Sinai, which calls itself, “Communicators with the Mahdi,” as consisting almost entirely of Palestinian members of Hamas and Jihadi Islami from Gaza. This network is held responsible for the sharp escalation in attacks on Egyptian security forces since the Brotherhood leaders set up shop at the Beach Hotel.

There is no doubt that the Brotherhood revolt leaders in
Gaza are coordinating their actions with the Egyptian al Qaeda leader Ramzi Mowafi and the armed Salafist legion he commands in Sinai.
In Cairo, too the army has placed restrictions on Syrian Brotherhood members who entered Egypt recently among th  e tens of thousands of refugees fleeing the civil war against Bashar Assad. Whereas Presiden Morsi allowed them to move freely around the country,  since Saturday, July 20, they need a license to travel anywhere – or even leave the country.

The use of the Gaza Strip as the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood’s center of operation outside its borders raises questions about the role of Hamas and the Gaza Strip itself with regard to the resumed peace talks due to begin in Washington next week under US sponsorship.
Hamas quickly rejected the US Secretary of State John Kerry’s initiative announced last Friday and denounced Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas as having no mandate to represent the Palestinian people in any negotiations for its future.
This attitude and the presence of a senior Muslim Brotherhood delegation in the Gaza Strip would render any accord Abbas reached with Israel partial and only applicable to the West Bank.
