Dear
Friends,
The
update on Brian is that he is in a single room on the Stroke Unit, which is
very useful for Gilly, who changes his leg dressings, and is also able to pray
for him there. Brian is progressing well.
An
occupational therapist has been getting him to use his right arm and hand, and
progress has been made. A physiotherapist has had him standing and
getting himself back into bed.
He
is much more lucid in his speech during the day, but this tails off when he
gets tired. A speech therapist will see him today. He has been
sleeping fairly well.
Items
for prayer:
1 For full
restoration of his speech and full use of his right arm and hand.
2 For full healing
of his hip.
3 That the
different therapists and medics will compare notes - and not ask the same
questions every time!
4 That they will
understand the various conditions, not just their own discipline - e.g. 'What's
that dressing on his hip?' - 'He's just had a hip replacement!!'
(He is in a Stroke ward, after all!)
