I have spoken to Gilly again and I am sad to report that Brian has suffered another setback.
Having spent three days in the HDU we have some further bad news following the attempts to move Brian to a general ward as we had all hoped and prayed for.
However, when Gilly went to see him yesterday he was "all over the place and speaking gobbledygook" and his words were totally incoherent.
The doctors rushed Brian for a CT Scan on the brain and he was diagnosed as having had a stroke. Gilly was livid with this for she feels the hospital staff should have picked up the diagnosis much earlier for he ticked all the boxes for someone in his condition.
Gilly said that amongst the words which Brian was trying to speak through his slurred vocabulary was for Gilly to attempt to arrange for private medical care for him, as they both feel the hospital is letting them down and are not providing the one to one care which he needs having gone through so much lately.
The one piece of good news throughout all of this is that the stroke is not a life-threatening one, and that Brian can be treated for this.
As I said on an earlier report, we cannot fully understand why The Lord allows a great servant of His such as Brian to suffer the illnesses that he has had to endure these past few years, but "God works in mysterious ways His wonders to perform", and we trust in Him for His protective hand upon Brian during this latest ordeal.
