If you're a race baiter on either side, prepare to have all of your pitiful arguments sliced to pieces by the double-edge, Damascus steel sword of truth that is the King James Holy Bible. It presents Jesus as He truly was, as He truly is, and as He will be in the age to come.
Right now there is a very intense debate raging across America and the world regarding the skin color and ethnicity of Jesus Christ, a debate triggered ironically by a
white man pretending to be a black man and fomenting racial unrest. He is demanding that statues of 'white Jesus' be removed and images of Jesus be recast to show him as an African black man. Was Jesus white, was He black, what was He? Fortunately, God's perfectly preserved word of the
King James Bible has that answer, and so much more for us to consider.
"My beloved is white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand. His head is as the most fine gold, his locks are bushy, and black as a raven. His eyes are as the eyes of doves by the rivers of waters, washed with milk, and fitly set. His cheeks are as a bed of spices, as sweet flowers: his lips like lilies, dropping sweet smelling myrrh. His hands are as gold rings set with the beryl: his belly is as bright ivory overlaid with sapphires. His legs are as pillars of marble, set upon sockets of fine gold: his countenance is as Lebanon, excellent as the cedars. His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem." Song of Solomon 5:10-16 (KJB)
"His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength." Revelation 1:14-16 (KJB)
On this episode of Rightly Dividing, we are looking at the physical attributes and ethnicity of Jesus of Nazareth, something that your King James Bible has quite a bit to talk about. Why is this important? Because everything the bible has to teach us, in any dispensation, is edifying and instructive for us who are bible believers. Join us as we plumb the depths of both Old and New Testaments as we read about our Saviour, and thrill to the myriad descriptive passages that talk about Him.
