The Consistency of the Scriptures
In the previous article on Babel and Globalism we drew attention to the relationship between God's division of humanity by dividing the language and the wickedness that is to be found in cities. Psalm 55:9-11 seems to suggest that David had an appreciation of this too. Verse 9 reads ’Destroy, O Lord, and divide their tongues (speech). For I have seen violence and strife in the city’.
David's contemplation connects resistance to corporate and organised wickedness with Divine intervention in the form of division of language. This resulted in confusion within the counsel of his enemies — thereby inhibiting their success against him. Verse 16 goes on to say ‘As for me I will call upon God and YHWH will save me’, showing the singular voice of the believer in union with the Lord Himself.
In contrast to the many divided voices of man, believers the world over speak with a single united spiritual language that is heard, understood and answered in Heaven itself. What a glorious privilege we have .... we can speak to the Sovereign, Almighty Creator, YHWH .... and He listens!!!
Verse 22 ‘Cast your burden on YHWH and He shall sustain you; he shall never permit the righteous to be moved (or shaken)’.
