AN UPDATE AND SOME GOOD NEWS ON BRIAN

 Hi everyone

We have some good news - that Brian was allowed home from hospital this week, praise the Lord! Brian and Gilly (& Tim) do thank all of you for your love and concern and especially for your prayers for them. The kidney issue (excess potassium) was quickly dealt with, and heart issues seem to be the main concern.

He found the consultant was excellent, and Brian was able to pray with his assistant. He was also able to pray with a couple of Christians there, and also to share the gospel with two of the nurses and some consulting staff (from India), praise the Lord.

He was offered recuperation at Selby Hospital, about 22 miles away, but opted to go home, which "has been the best thing that we've done", as his nursing care by Gilly and Tim is excellent! Brian has lost at least a stone, and aims to keep that off, and his legs are doing well, but he still has a lot of pain in his left knee. However, he is noticeably recovering and getting stronger.

Side effects like potassium affecting his kidneys (as said) have been dealt with though, thankfully, and he will have a chest X-Ray in due course, with regular blood tests. The district nurse has been good, providing equipment and helpful creams.

Recovery is a slow process, and he is still very tired, but again, they are so grateful for your prayer support. Thank you. Brian is looking forward to teaching at the Conference near Cromer with Jonathan in May this year - more about that below.

Valerie Heard

For those who know her: News is not positive (in the natural) and she has been having many scans and has started radiotherapy. She still aims to join the Zoom calls that many of you see her on.

Her husband John (in a dementia care home) is more alert and communicative now. As mentioned before, they were locked in due to Covid in the home recently. This meant that he was able to see grandchildren via video calls, which he enjoyed. However, visitors (mainly their son and daughter) are allowed in again now.

Cromer Conference

As mentioned, this is still scheduled for 2nd May for 4 (or 5) nights. For those who don't know, there will be Bible Studies by Brian (on Revelation 1-4) and also by Jonathan Hill.

Bookings are not high yet, and Anne Powell has been asked to release rooms for guests who are not joining the Bible Studies. So, if you would like to go please get your form and deposit to Anne very soon, as once these rooms are gone they are gone.

If you need a form just reply to me and I'll email you one (single page) for you to print, complete and send to her. Thanks. (Note: If government rules cause the Centre to close again, then deposits/balances can either be reimbursed or forwarded to the next break.)

Zoom Studies

For those involved please don't forget that Grace Turpin's next study in the series on Genesis is tomorrow (Sunday) at 7pm.

She is starting Genesis 18 to 20 on Abraham, Lot and Sodom.

If you are interested in these studies and don't have the log on information just reply to me for the Zoom details.

Thank you again for all your interest and prayer support.

Blessings

Keith & Pat
