Hi everyone – it has been a while, but
here are the latest details on Brian (and Valerie) and also information about a
potential conference (at last!).
An Update on Brian (Gemmell)
The various ulcers and wounds on Brian's
legs and feet continue to improve and some are now fully healed. Some regular
dressing is still needed though. His mobility and speech have also been
slowly improving.
However, there are still some lesions
that give discomfort, particularly at night, and once his sleep is disturbed
Brian often finds it difficult to get to sleep again as his mind sometimes
works overtime, and it can be rather overpowering, so please continue to pray –
particularly for, and in, the night time for him. Thank you.
Brian and Gilly thank you all so very
much for continuing to pray for them.
Cromer Conference
After the cancellation of the Matlock
conference (with the closure of that venue now) and the
cancellation of conferences scheduled at Overstrand, Cromer in May for both
years, it is now hoped that Brian can host one there over a long
weekend in mid-September. Scheduled dates: Fri 17 to
Tue 22 Sept 2021.
A Booking Form is available now from Anne Powel as usual. This is
important even of Anne is still holding a provisional booking
for you from before. If she doesn’t hear from you she may have to release rooms
previously reserved for new bookings!
New bookings will not require
a deposit now, but there has been a lot of interest already,
particularly from some who weren’t previously booked in, and to avoid
disappointment please get your forms in ASAP! Thank you.
Everything is still subject, of course,
to the regulations existing at the time, so cheques won’t be banked until
immediately before the conference. However, advanced booking will be
essential.
An Update from Valerie (Heard)
Thank you to all who have prayed for her
and John. Valerie’s video consultation with the consultant last week
regarding a CT scan showed that all was still stable, despite her being
temporarily off ‘Palbo’ for a total of 8 weeks (to have cataract surgery -
which went well) since Christmas. This is wonderful news, and they are praying
that the cancers will be driven back and not just remain static. The next CT
scan is in June, plus an ultrasound of painful areas (following the previous
mastectomy).
John's condition has deteriorated a lot;
he fell recently and has lost a lot of his mobility; the Alzheimer’s and
Vascular Dementia has appeared to continue, giving some odd and often very
disturbing memory recall.
They are still standing on the Word and
believing Psalm 103, speaking out that their ‘God … heals all your diseases.’
They are so thankful for the prayer support given.
College Course
Thanks to those who have prayed for me
(Keith) as I have now given 28 studies on End Time Prophecy for the local Bible
College, mainly over Zoom, with just three more to give at the end of this
month. We know that many of you have joined in watching (live, or on YouTube),
and a big ‘Thank you’ for being so encouraging to me, as there is no way that I
could have done any of this in my own strength!
Thanks again to Ros Price for letting me
present Roger’s material from 40-45 years ago for these Word-hungry students
(and others!). It is so lovely to see people ravenous for the Word of God.
Knowing-Jesus.com
Some of you may remember Elizabeth
Haworth sharing at a conference with Brian in Eastergate about the launch of
her son Stephen’s project and website about 8-9 years ago, providing a
Bible-based resource on line, particularly for new Christians, and to encourage
people into faith.
Elizabeth has been providing daily
devotionals for this website, and Stephen and her daughter Rachel have helped
her to publish both a paperback and a Kindle version of a new book of her
devotions relating to Paul's Epistles.
Unfortunately, we have not had the chance
to read through them all ourselves, but you can flip through a sample on
Amazon, if you are interested. The title is ‘Praying Through the
Scriptures: Paul's Epistles’.
Thanks
again for your faithful prayers for Brian and Valerie during these difficult
and challenging times for them and their families.
Don’t forget to book for the conference
if you would like to come, as places are expected to fill very quickly!
Much love and blessings,
Keith (& Pat)
