ISRAEL ARRESTED 93 HAMAS MEN IN JUDEA & SAMARIA TERROR NETWORK, TARGETING PA, ISRAEL:

Seven hours before the five-day cease-fire was scheduled to expire at midnight on Monday, the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) dropped a bombshell. In a briefing to journalists, a senior official in the organization revealed a massive Hamas terror network had been uncovered in Judea & Samaria and Jerusalem, which planned to carry out terror attacks in Israel, start a third intifada and build the infrastructure for a military overthrow of the Palestinian Authority, like that which Hamas carried out in Gaza more than seven years ago.

Altogether, 93 Hamas members have been arrested since May for involvement in this network. As a result of the arrests and interrogations, the security services have seized $171,000, 24 rifles, six pistols, seven rocket launchers, and a large quantity of ammunition. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said he was following reports of a Hamas plot to topple the PA government with great concern, and that the information posed a serious threat to the future of the Palestinian unity government. It has now become clear that chances of reaching a long-term understanding between Israel and Hamas through the Palestinian Authority are low.

The bitter truth is that the government of PM Binyamin Netanyahu, which until now was dismissive of PA President Mahmoud Abbas and just went through nine months of fruitless negotiations, has recently expressed interest in putting him in power in Gaza. Now the government doesn't believe Abbas has the ability to rule even in Judea & Samaria. This government's belief is that Hamas, either through the ballot box or by way of the gun, will eventually take over Judea & Samaria. Either way, the Israeli government does not want a peace agreement or other understanding that it will obligate it to evacuate thriving communities and relocate residents. (Ynet News/Ha’aretz)<
