(Note: Some weeks ago, I wrote a column about "The Importance of Hydration" with my mother as an example. Unfortunately, two hospital doctors didn't pay attention to symptoms that could have indicated a urinary tract infection was present. A UTI hits the elderly very hard and fast. She is now in a nursing/rehab facility and the expenses are considerable. I would greatly appreciate your prayers for her and any support you can offer. Thank you.)
Most people who read my columns are familiar with the famous quote by David Rockefeller (DR) in his MEMOIRS: "Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as 'internationalists' and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure---one world, if you will. If that's the charge, I stnd guilty, and I am proud of it." The common understanding of this statement is that DR is admitting he and his "secret cabal" are "working against the best interests of the United States." However, Ari Goldberg says DR is only admitting he is "guilty" of "conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure." This is because later on the same page of his book, DR says he and his fellow conspirators have brought about "fundamental improvements in societies around the world, particularly in the United States." So what's going on?
The best way to answer that question is to explore DR's worldview. DR is part of the modern version of what Philip Freneau in AMERICAN MUSEUM (July 1792) referred to as the "hereditary elite." Not too long ago, DR told Congressman William Dannemeyer that "some men are born to rule, but most men are born to be ruled." DR is a globalist, a world citizen who, with other elitists, believe they have a responsibility to manage (rule) the world. This is not just my impression, because in 1959 the Rockefeller Brothers Fund Special Studies Project issued a report titled, "The Mid-Century Challenge to U.S. Foreign Policy," in which one reads: "We cannot escape, and indeed should welcome, the task which history has imposed on us. This is the task of helping to shape a new world order in all its dimensions---spiritual, economic, political, social."
In 1973, DR formed the Trilateral Commission (TC), about which Sen. Barry Goldwater in WITH NO APOLOGIES (1979) wrote: "In my view the Trilateral Commission represents a skillful, coordinated effort to seize control and consolidate the four centers of power---political, monetary, intellectual, and ecclesiastical." The year after the TC was formed, Rhodes scholar Richard Gardner in the April 1974 edition of FOREIGN AFFAIRS (published by the Council on Foreign Relations, with David Rockefeller as chairman, 1970-1985) described how "an end run around national sovereignty, eroding it piece by piece, will accomplish much more than the old-fashioned frontal assault," and he went on to say how GATT would be part of that effort!
Once DR and his "secret cabal" got us into a world economy, then in his MEMOIRS, he could say "there have been fundamental improvements in societies around the world as a result of global trade," etc. DR also says critics of what he and his "secret cabal" are doing "rarely mention" the "positive consequences, nor can they cogently explain how they would have sustained American economic growth and the expansion of our political power without them." DR sees all of this as himself and his "secret cabal" working FOR "the best interests of the United States."
What DR is actually displaying is the arrogance of power. He wrote his MEMOIRS in 2002, and maybe he didn't appreciate the fact that once the U.S. became part of a global economic system, then what effects Greece, for example, can negatively impact the U.S. Maybe he didn't foresee the global negative impact of banks overleveraging and causing the housing/mortgage crisis. Maybe he didn't see or care about the fact that sending American jobs overseas would help other nations' economies but hurt our own (e.g., the textile industry in the U.S. is practically destroyed). Maybe he didn't see the increasing foreign ownership of American companies could result in decisions benefiting other nations but hurting ours.
This list of adverse effects upon Americans from our "benevolent rule" by DR "conspiring with" his "secret cabal" goes on and on. Maybe they just didn't realize what they were doing! But what if being "citizens of thze world," they didn't mind "working against the best interests of the United States" if the result was, in their opinion, to benefit other nations' people more? Do you think DR might realize this now? Do you think he cares? After all, he is one of the "hereditary elite" who are "born to rule," in his opinion. And who are we, the modern "serfs," to question the "secret cabal" nobles described in W.J. Ghent's OUR BENEVOLENT FEUDALISM (1902).

Ghent was the editor of THE AMERICAN FABIAN, a socialilst publication. And in a 1911 ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH cartoon by Robert Minor, DR's ancestor, "hereditary elite" member John D. Rockefeller, is shown greeting Karl Marx's "Socialism" to Wall Street, saying "Dee-lighted." Once the U.S. is moved toward Socialism, it will be more easily merged into a World Socialist Government. In DR's words, it will be "a more integrated global political and economic structure---one world, if you will." This is the PE's ultimate goal.
