Hi Brian,
Please check out the source of that article on your blog about the Golan giants being unearthed.
After receiving another article (about an ancient writing telling of a miracle of Jesus being witnessed by a roman historian,) I sent it to Shelley to read. It is from the same source, http://worldnewsdailyreport.com.
She immediately noticed the "disclaimer" at the top of the homepage which reads....
"World News Daily Report is a news and political satire web publication, which may or may not use real names, often in semi-real or mostly fictitious ways. All news articles contained within worldnewsdailyreport.com are fiction, and presumably fake news. Any resemblance to the truth is purely coincidental, except for all references to politicians and/or celebrities, in which case they are based on real people, but still based almost entirely in fiction. - See more at: http://worldnewsdailyreport.com/disclaimer/#sthash.KuFZ4vcD.dpuf"!
It seems the news articles on the site are total fiction, apparently there are many of these sites on the web..
Check it out for yourself and if you agree I'm sure you'll remove from the blog, and make others aware of this sort of material.
The thing is they are mixed with truth so seem believable. A look at some of the other stories in hindsight and you can see the stupidity of them.
Another lesson learned I think, the only thing we can totally stand on is the word of God itself, and to be totally untrusting of ANY extra biblical information concerning biblical matters. Oh, and to praise God for a discerning Godly wife ;-))
Love in Jesus
Ian
