US Catholic Church reports big rise in sex-abuse allegations FROM THE AP: During the period from July 1, 2017, to June 30, 2018, 1,385 adults came forward with 1,455 allegations of abuse, according to the annual report of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Secretariat of Child and Youth Protection. That was up from 693 allegations in the previous year. The report attributed much of the increase to a victim compensation program implemented in five dioceses in New York state. According to the report, Catholic dioceses and religious orders spent $301.6 million during the reporting period on payments to victims, legal fees and child-protection efforts. That was up 14% from the previous year and double the amount spent in the 2014 fiscal year. The number of allegations is likely to rise further during the current fiscal year, given that Catholic dioceses in New Jersey and Pennsylvania have started large compensation programs in the wake of a scathing Pennsylvania grand jury report released in August. The grand jury identified more than 300 priests in six of the state’s dioceses who have been credibly accused of child sexual abuse committed over many decades. PEDOPHILES ARE NOW CALLING THEMSELVES ‘MINOR ATTRACTED PERSONS’ AND WANT INCLUSION IN LGBTQ MOVEMENT Since then, attorneys general in numerous states have set up abuse hotlines and launched investigations, and a growing number of dioceses and Catholic religious orders have released names of priests accused of abuse. “Victims are coming forward now because of real progress by secular authorities,” said the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests. “Lawmakers are increasingly getting rid of archaic, predator-friendly laws and 16 attorneys general have launched investigations, so many victims are feeling hopeful.” The advocacy group urged officials in every diocese to turn over sex abuse records to their state attorney general for investigation. The group also said church staff should be instructed to report suspected abuse to secular law enforcement before filing a report internally. According to a survey included in the new annual report, more than 90% of the alleged abusers were already dead or removed from the ministry. Most of the reported abuse occurred between 1960 and 1990, with a peak in the 1970s. Only one diocese, based in Lincoln, Nebraska, was found noncompliant due to lack of transparency in public communications about child sex abuse cases. Members of the audit team made on-site visits to more than one-third of the 196 U.S. dioceses and found shortcomings in 14% of them that will warrant follow-up visits. Among the problems detected were poor record-keeping of background-check data, and allowing some clergy, staff and volunteers to have contact with children without undergoing training or background checks. The findings were evidence of “complacency and lack of diligence on the part of some dioceses,” said a letter included in the report from Francesco Cesareo, who chairs a review board created by the bishops in 2002 to monitor sex abuse prevention efforts. Referring to the Pennsylvania grand jury report, and the abuse allegations that led to the defrocking of former Cardinal Theodore McCarrick , Cesareo said the events “have led to both frustration and anger among the faithful in the Church, a loss of the credibility of the hierarchy, and a questioning of the efficacy of the audit itself.” The introductory section of the annual report said the McCarrick scandal and the grand jury report helped turn complacency into urgency, and it commended some of the steps taken in response. “While it is unfortunate that it took such grave sins and crimes to spur action, as Catholics, we are grateful that God can bring good out of such evils,” the report said. “However, there remains work to be done.” Specifically, the report urged new steps to address the accountability of bishops engaged in abuse or cover-ups, as well as increased involvement of lay experts in investigating abuse allegations. Can you imagine what it would be like to win one of the biggest elections in the 71 year history of regathered Israel, making you the only 5-time prime minister, only to then fail to follow Israeli law and form a new coalition forcing you back to do the elections all over again? Welcome to Benjamin Netanyahu's new reality. Never before in the entire history of regathered Israel has this type of situation occurred. So why is it happening now? It’s a result of Israel’s fractious parliamentary system, strong egos and lingering resentments. Where this one winds up is anyone's guess. Israel Goes Back To Elections As Netanyahu Fails To Form Coalition FROM THE JPOST: It was the first time in Israeli history that a candidate for prime minister failed to form a coalition after being given the task by the president after an election. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the Likud faction ahead of the vote that he had not succeeded in reaching a compromise with Yisrael Beytenu leader Avigdor Liberman on the controversial haredi (ultra-Orthodox) conscription bill, and that he had also tried unsuccessfully to woo MKs from the opposition to join his government. “The State of Israel is going to elections because of the Likud’s refusal to accept our proposal,” Liberman said as he entered the Knesset plenum. “This is a complete surrender of the Likud to the ultra-Orthodox. We will not be partners in a government of Jewish law.” Tourism Minister Yariv Levin, head of the Likud’s negotiating team, told reporters “it’s over,” as he arrived at the Likud meeting after his last negotiation had failed. Environmental Protection Minister Ze’ev Elkin said that there was no choice but to hold new elections, due to Liberman’s intransigence and refusal to accept “1,000 compromises” that had been offered throughout the last week. The vote – taken just after the midnight deadline by which Netanyahu needed to tell President Reuven Rivlin whether he had been able to form a governing coalition – was 74 to 45 in favor of dispersing. Opposition MKs shouted “shame, shame, shame” in unison ahead of the vote. The Likud initiated the bill to dissolve the Knesset rather than give Rivlin a chance to appoint someone other than Netanyahu to form a government. In presenting the bill to the Knesset, Likud MK Miki Zohar said that he is “disappointed by the situation, but we were forced into it.” He admitted that the decision “would not be remembered positively in our history.” “The Left asks us why we didn’t give [Blue and White leader] Benny Gantz a chance to form the coalition,” Zohar said. “Two and a half million people voted as if they had two votes, for their party and for [Netanyahu]... despite knowing about the [pre-indictment] hearing [for the prime minister on corruption charges]. They didn’t want Gantz.” According to Zohar, those calling to let Gantz form the government are “saying to give the opportunity to the minority to form the government at the expense of the majority. The majority rules, while the minority has rights. That is the meaning of democracy.” The bill called the election for September 17, but there were several other options the coalition was set to vote on in the second reading. Netanyahu asked the other parties to back September 17, because that is what Yisrael Beytenu preferred, and he needed them to have a majority in favor of dissolving the Knesset. In the unsuccessful coalition talks, the Likud had proposed that as soon as the government would be formed, Liberman’s original conscription law would be presented, as written and in his language, for the approval of the Knesset plenum. After its approval, there would be more negotiations when the law would be prepared for its final readings. If that agreement is not reached by the end of July, the party said, and in accordance with the decision of the High Court of Justice, the current arrangement that has exempted haredim from being drafted would expire, and the compulsory service law would apply to all. The ultra-Orthodox parties would therefore have to choose between Liberman’s version of the law or a return to the original law, which means full mobilization for haredim, the Likud said. “The proposal has now been submitted to the parties, and we await their positive response in order to form a right-wing government tonight and prevent unnecessary elections,” the party wrote. In response, United Torah Judaism said that it would back another party to lead the coalition. “We won’t retreat beyond what we have agreed to,” UTJ leader Deputy Health Minister Ya’acov Litzman said in his initial response to the Likud statement. “I still believe that a government can be formed. I’m on my way to sign on the coalition agreement.” Liberman also initially rejected the proposal, saying it was not exactly what he had said all along about the conscription bill needing to be passed into law as is. The proposal was made after the Likud reported that it had secured agreements with 60 MKs from the Likud, Kulanu, UTJ, Shas and the Union of Right-Wing Parties, leaving it only one MK short of a majority coalition. After Kulanu denied that it had signed any documents and insisted it won’t sign unless the coalition would include 61 MKs, the Likud said the deal with Kulanu was complete and ready to be signed, pending Liberman joining the government. READ MORE

Sometimes I feel like I will wake up and find that this type of child abuse was just a nightmare. Unfortunately, it’s very real and our anger at this cannot even come close to the anger of our Lord Jesus Christ. Brethren, can you imagine how our Lord feels when He sees the emotional and physical abuse of the little children; and he sees the parents of these children being complicit – all in the name of Political Correctness? How did we arrive here at Drag Queen Story Hour at the Public Library? “And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.”  Matthew 18:5,6 (KJV) I weep for these children.  They are the innocent ones in this horrific Evil.  Instead of having parents who teach them about the Lord and His Word – they have parents who are “feeding them to the lions.” What kind of EVIL is this? Are Public Libraries Becoming Private Child Corruption Centers? It’s bad enough that some libraries encourage little children to perch on the laps of transvestite males as they hear fables about well-adjusted homosexual families, in the so-called “Drag Queen Story Hours” featured in some communities. And then those guys turn out to be convicted child molesters, as recently happened in Houston. But other libraries have devised another method for mental molestation of youth. Middle and high-schoolers are invited to a private “safe space” session with a garishly -dressed she-male to explore what “drag” is all about. And adults are excluded—until the public hears and cries “foul.” It’s happening in Delaware County, Ohio, an affluent suburb north of Columbus. And taxpayers are putting up quite a fuss. A June 5 session called “Drag 101” is advertised on the teen page of the Delaware County Library website, and here’s how the announcement reads: “Drag 101—Teen Program. Curious about the art of drag and no idea where to start? Come learn the basics with former Miss Gay Ohio America, Selena T. West! All genders welcome; drag is for everyone! Teens only, please.” What– no parents? And why not adults? One’s suspicions are heightened immediately over any program for a 13- year-old to be unsupervised in a private space with a man who likes to dress as a woman. And in a taxpayer-funded library, no less. It turns out it’s the half-a-brainchild of the children’s librarian, Becky Woodruff. And now we all feel a lot better. Following the public outcry, one adult will now be allowed to accompany each student, but no other adults will be permitted in the room with the 12 to 17-year- olds they have invited to attend. What are they hiding? At least now the library is doing background checks on the presenters, the director recently revealed. And why weren’t they doing that before public objections? The library director, George Needham, said this on social media: “…it’s very common in our regular teen programming to use the phrase, ‘Teens only, please.’ This is because, within teen development, it’s very important that they feel like they have ownership over a safe space.” Who made him a psychologist and does anyone want that in a librarian? NO. And he’s wrong. Parental oversight, not privacy with disordered adults, is critical during childhood and adolescence to keep kids actually safe from major life-damaging episodes as well as to protect them from predators. Do we have to worry about predators in the library? Seems that some healthy suspicion is in order. (#LibrariesToo ) Needham went on to explain that the “teens-only phrase” is “used to deter young children or tweens from attending programs intended for a teen audience.” Why is that important? Why can’t fifteen-year-old Josh attend with his nine-year old sister? Unless there are sleazy elements you librarians think teens will keep from their parents but little kids are more likely to blab. And Needham continued: “Typically, parents are also encouraged to give a teen program its own space and wait in a nearby area of the library.” Parents, go away. But I say, taxpayers, rise up. Indeed, these folks crave private sessions with adolescents and we’ve seen this before with sex educators and others pushing slimy agendas. “Drag 101” is part of “summer reading.” And you thought libraries were safe spaces. The library board’s meeting on May 21 heard from members of the public speaking both against as well as for this event. Their decision? They are not canceling. But hold on. The situation gets even shadier when one finds out that the organizer, a man who calls himself “Selena T. West,”  has sexually suggestive images all over the Internet. Who is “Selena, “anyway? If one of these teens arrives at the library, courtesy of your tax dollars, and likes the “drag” lessons, surely there will be follow-up contact, right? Are these unsupervised adults allowed to collect cell phone numbers from their private teen audience? And then what? “Come down and meet me at the pride parade!” If a teen checks him out on the web, “Selena” sets an example that is questionable at best. Is this a public relations/publicity campaign taxpayers should be funding? Until the recent uproar, this event had no parental notice or permission. Is the library willing to be held legally accountable for any complications as they bypass parents and endanger children? A “drag” interest and gender confusion could create serious emotional disturbances in some adolescent boys. The outrageous promotion of depravity by this library doesn’t end with private corruption sessions. The teen page is dominated by pro-homosexual and pro-gender confusion propaganda, with an entire “LGBTQIA” section that links to many groups specializing in child endangerment: GLSEN, the Human Rights Campaign, the local “gay” youth center (open to children as young as 12 without parent knowledge), the Nationwide Children’s Hospital THRIVE program, which has only one answer to gender confusion in kids—start the dangerous drugs of “transition” ASAP; pro-homosexual legal groups like ACLU and Lambda Legal, and information trashing “conversion therapy.” Are there no conservatives or people of faith in Delaware County? This page has not a single resource with an opposite ( aka, safe) viewpoint.
