It's been absolutely crazy exciting so far, with no end in sight. That brings us to the topic of today's story, Hurricane Joaquin. Governors in Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey and North Carolina have issued a State of Emergency. I thought it unusual for them hurricane watcher people to pick a Spanish name, and it got me curious as to the meaning of that name. When I went and looked it up, I about fell off my chair. According to the name meaning web sites I visited, the name Joaquin means "Raised By Yahweh". Huh, are you kidding me? "raised by Yahweh"? Look, folks, maybe this storm will fizzle out and maybe it won't, but at this point I really feel that the Lord God of Abraham is sending us a message. When you have the combined assembled nations of the world thumbing their nose at Him, raising the flag of Palestine and talking about dividing up His holy land of Israel, you got to know that judgment is coming. Russia and Iran are not there to defeat ISIS, they are there to restore power to Syria's President Bashar al-Assad. Huge difference. By doing this, a permanent military front will be created on Israel's northern border. The complete balance of power in the Middle East has changed and seemingly overnight. "The vanguard of Iranian ground forces began arriving in Syria: soldiers and officers specifically to participate in this battle. They are not advisors ... we mean hundreds with equipment and weapons. They will be followed by more," the second source said. Iraqis would also take part in the operation, the source said. Thus far, direct Iranian military support for Assad has come mostly in the form of military advisors. Iran has also mobilized Shi'ite militia fighters, including Iraqis and some Afghans, to fight alongside Syrian government forces. Lebanon's Hezbollah, which is backed by Iran, has been fighting alongside the Syrian army since early in the conflict. The Russian air force began air strikes in Syria on Wednesday, targeting areas near the cities of Homs and Hama in the west of the country, where Assad's forces are fighting an array of insurgent groups, though not Islamic State, which is based mostly in the north and east. An alliance of insurgent groups including the al Qaeda-linked Nusra Front and powerful Ahrar al-Sham made rapid gains in Idlib province earlier this year, completely expelling the government from the area bordering Turkey. source

And in the blink of an eye, Russia instantly became the biggest player and the dominant force in the Middle East. Reaction from the pusillanimous American president Barack Hussein Obama was akin to that of watching Barney Fife attempting to deal with a traffic violation. Putin's real goal is the invasion of the nation of Israel. Obama's press secretary open his mouth and uttered this amazingly and mind-numbingly ignorant comment: "I think the Russians have made clear that they're not interested in provoking a conflict," White House press secretaryJosh Earnest said. "Their actions thus far indicate that that's what they believe." Oh, really now. Hey, guess what? Putin just took Syria after he took Ukraine, and he's just getting started. He is on a march towards the "grand prize" that the Bible declares strive to obtain, and that is to take Israel. Putin is a very smart man, he waited patiently until Syria became so weakened by civil war and sectarian violence that there would be no objection to his arrival.  Is Putin now assembling the nations that will make up the mighty force of Magog? Russia is, by far, the largest nation on the face of the earth, nearly twice as big as second place Canada. In ancient times, and even in maps found in the 17th and 18th centuries, Russia was called Magog. They are the northern most point on the face of the Earth from the nation of Israel. Why is this important? Because Bible prophecy states that Israel's main end times enemy is due north of them. The Bible says that Russia, Magog, will take two really good shots at attacking Israel. The first time will be during the Battle of Armageddon at the end of the Time of Jacob's Trouble after the Rapture, and the second time will be 1,000 years after that in the Battle of Armageddon. Obama finds himself in a crazy, bad predicament now. After doing nothing with the 2 and a half years in which he could have taken control of the Syrian situation, Russia has stepped in and taken over. Yes. the United States military is more powerful than the Russian military - BUT - we have a spineless Commander-in-chief who is quaking in his bunny slippers right now. While Obama has been sharpening his golf game the last few years, Putin has been putting all the pieces in place to take functional control of the Middle East in a very Reaganesque way. From this point forward, the gateway to Syria will be through Russia. As a result, America has absolutely no response to today's events other than to lamely attempt to spin it in a positive light. Here are some of the actual statements that came from the Obama administration today: “The United States supports any genuine effort to fight ISIL and al-Qaida affiliated groups, especially al-Nusra,” Kerry says. If Russia’s efforts represent a genuine commitment, “we welcome that effort”, he continues. source “We have informed Russia that we are prepared to hold these deconfliction talks as early as possible: this week.” source Secretary of Defense Ash Carter lashed out at Russia on Wednesday for escalating the conflict, saying its actions were equivalent to “pouring gasoline on a fire.”source “Putin has this opening because of the absence of any U.S. strategy in Syria,” said Cotton, a former Army officer. “The U.S. must reject Russia's interference and rally our partners to do the same." source "We don't have much choice at this point but to figure out to co-exist" with the Russians, Rep. Adam Smith, the ranking Democrat on the House Armed Services Committee said. source Yeah, that's the ticket, go figure out how to "co-exist" with the Russia. Are you kidding me? But sadly, that's what our foreign policy truly is - nothing. So while our military may be superior to Russia's, and it is, our leadership is not. Under Obama, we have lost the appetite and resolve necessary to be not only a world leader but the world leader. Putin has stepped in to fill that leadership vacuum, and is doing a bang-up job so far. Magog will continue to rise in strength and numbers. In the coming months, you will see a slow but very steady increase by Russia in expanding it's military presence across the Middle East. Their ascent will be virtually unchecked and unchallenged. The internationally recognised Ukrainian territory of Crimea was annexed by the Russian Federation in March 2014. Themilitary intervention and annexation by Russia took place in the aftermath of theUkrainian Revolution. Did any other country outside of Ukraine lift a finger to stop Putin as he did this? No, they did not. Vladimir Putin is a man of few words and much action, but don't make the mistake of rooting for him. The Bible says that Magog and it's leader Gog are led by the spirit of Satan, with their goal being the destruction of God's holy land of Israel. Would that make Gog the Antichrist? You tell me, but it sure looks that way. Perhaps Putin is just the "advance man" for the actual Antichrist that will control Russia/Magog. Maybe this whole thing will all blow over in a few weeks, or maybe we are witnessing events that will culminate in Magog at the Battle of Armageddon. I am not making predictions so much as reading what the Bible says and observing what's going on. But either way now is no time to not be paying attention. As for me, I fully intend to watch the battle when it happens from the Balcony. For an unsaved, Christ-rejecting world, it's not going to be a pretty sight. These are truly the days of prophecy long ago foretold in the pages of the Holy Bible. BOMBSHELL: Abbas At UN Says Palestine No Longer Bound By Agreements With Israel by Geoffrey Grider Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas declared before world leaders Wednesday that he is no longer bound by agreements signed with Israel and called on the United Nations to provide international protection for Palestinians, in the most serious warning yet that he might walk away from engagement with the Jewish state. "Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it." Zechariah 12: 2,3 (KJV) EDITOR'S NOTE: The real battle for the Bible believer in all this is exactly what the Bible said has always been the issue, and what would be the issue in the last days: Jerusalem. You will pay careful attention to where Abbas says that the flag of Palestine "will be raised soon in Jerusalem, the capital of our Palestinian state." Wow. Jerusalem has been the capital of Israel since about 1500 BC. At this time we call to your attention the treaty that was signed between Palestine and the Vatican on May 13, 2015. Tick, tock.... In a statement issued by his office, Netanyahu said Abbas' "speech of lies encourages incitement and unrest in the Middle East." Netanyahu called on Abbas to "act responsibly" and answer his proposal for direct negotiations with Israel without any preconditions. "The fact that time after time he (Abbas) does not respond is the best proof that he has no intention of reaching a peace agreement," the statement said. Abbas' comments reflect deep frustration, even desperation. It came after years of paralysis in attempts to negotiate Palestinian statehood with Israel and several months after Netanyahu formed a right-wing government that has continued settlement expansion on war-won lands the Palestinians want for their state. With negotiations frozen, Abbas has failed to come up with a political alternative. His hopes of creating a Palestinian state through negotiations with Israel have been derailed. A new poll shows that a majority of Palestinians want the 80-year-old leader to resign and dissolve his self-rule government, the Palestinian Authority. Many no longer believe a two-state solution is realistic and support political violence. Abbas had threatened to drop a "bombshell" in the speech - prompting speculation he would sever ties with Israel over its settlement expansion and other hard-line policies. On Wednesday, he said that Israel's refusal to commit to agreements signed "render us an authority without real powers." "As long as Israel refuses to cease settlement activities and to the release of the fourth group of Palestinian prisoners in accordance with our agreements, they leave us no choice but to insist that we will not remain the only ones committed to the implementation of these agreements, while Israel continuously violates them," Abbas said. "We therefore declare that we cannot continue to be bound by these agreements and that Israel must assume all of its responsibilities as an occupying power," he declared. He did not elaborate on which agreements. If Abbas were to go through with his demand that Israel, as the occupying power, assume responsibility for the Palestinians, this would require dissolving the Palestinian Authority and the resignation of Abbas. He didn't mention any of this in his speech. In his speech, Abbas accused Israel of "repeated, systematic incursions upon Al-Aqsa Mosque aimed at imposing a new reality," warning that such actions create an explosive situation. "It is no longer useful to waste time in negotiations for the sake of negotiations; what is required is to mobilize international efforts to oversee an end to the occupation in line with the resolutions of international legitimacy," he said. "Until then, I call upon the United Nations to provide international protection for the Palestinian people in accordance with international humanitarian law." Palestinian analyst Hani al-Masri in Ramallah said Abbas is trying to attract attention and pressure Israel. "This is a threat not a plan," he said. "Abbas has no plan, otherwise he could have spelled it out in his speech and could have told the world he is going to do this and that and asked them for understanding and support." Thousands of Abbas supporters gathered in the city centers in several West Bank cities as they listened to Abbas' speech. They cheered up when he said he is no longer bound by the signed agreements with Israel, waving Palestinian flags. In a symbolic moment Wednesday, Abbas raised the flag of the state of Palestine at the United Nations for the first time, with a promise that it will be raised soon in Jerusalem, "the capital of our Palestinian state." More than 300 ministers, diplomats and well-wishers crowded into the rose garden at U.N. headquarters where a temporary flagpole had been erected for the ceremony which took place following Abbas' speech. The Palestinians campaigned for a General Assembly resolution that was overwhelmingly approved on Sept. 10 allowing U.N. observer states to fly their flags alongside those of the 193 U.N. member states. The Holy See and the Palestinians and are the only two U.N. observer states. In a harshly worded essay ahead of his Wednesday address to the United Nations, the Palestinian president said a new multilateral approach to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is needed since direct negotiations with Israel have repeatedly failed. Abbas said the model should be based instead on the type of negotiations that took place in the Balkans, Libya and Iran. "The peace process must be multilateral. The same pattern of negotiations imposed for years will not work because Israel is the occupying power," he wrote in an op-ed in The Huffington Post. While Abbas' Palestinian Authority rules over most of the West Bank Palestinian population, Israel still controls much of the territory. source

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has issued a double warning over higher US interest rates, which it said could trigger a wave of emerging market corporate defaults and panic in financial markets as liquidity evaporates.

The IMF said corporate debts in emerging markets ballooned to $18 trillion (£12 trillion) last year, from $4 trillion in 2004 as companies gorged themselves on cheap debt.

It said the quadrupling in debt had been accompanied by weaker balance sheets, making companies more vulnerable to US rate rises.

"As advanced economies normalise monetary policy, emerging markets should prepare for an increase in corporate failures," the IMF said in a pre-released chapter of its latest Financial Stability Report.

It warned that this could create a credit crunch as risks "spill over to the financial sector and generate a vicious cycle as banks curtail lending".

In a double warning, the IMF said market liquidity, or the ease with which investors can quickly buy or sell securities without shifting their price, was "prone to sudden evaporation", particularly in bond markets, when the Federal Reserve started to raise interest rates.

It said a steady growth environment and "extraordinarily accommodative monetary policies" around the world had helped to maintain a "high level" of liquidity. However, it warned that this was not the same as "resilient" liquidity that could support markets in time of stress.

Gaston Gelos, head of the IMF's global financial stability division, said these factors were "masking liquidity risks" that could trigger violent market swings.

"Liquidity is like the oil in an engine, when there's too little of it, the machine starts stuttering," he said.

The IMF said an "illusion" of abundant liquidity may have encouraged "excessive risk taking" by some investors that could cause market ructions if many investors suddenly rushed to the exit.

"Even seemingly plentiful market liquidity can suddenly evaporate and lead to systemic financial disruptions," the IMF said.

"When liquidity drops sharply, prices become less informative and less aligned with fundamentals, and tend to overreact, leading to increased volatility. In extreme conditions, markets can freeze altogether, with systemic repercussions."

Bond inventories have fallen considerably since the financial crisis. However, regulators have argued that this position was unsustainable.

Banks have scaled-back their market making activities in the wake of the financial crisis, which has reduced their ability to act as a stabilising force by absorbing excess supply.

Structural factors, such as large holdings of relatively illiquid securities by mutual funds and concentrated holdings by institutional investors, could also exacerbate a sell-off.

Market liquidity indicators for high-yield and emerging market bonds have started to weaken relative to those for investment-grade bonds.

While the IMF said central bank bond buying had been positive because it provided the market with a "committed and solvent buyer" to support the market, it said higher interest rates would "inevitably boost volatility".

It also urged EU policymakers to "reevaluate" regulations brought in to restrict transactions on credit default swaps (CDS) of sovereign debt, which provide insurance against default but the IMF said had distorted the market.

While the IMF said tighter regulation had played a role in tighter liquidity conditions, it said evidence that it would make the next financial crisis worse was "still lacking".

"Indeed, the reforms have made the core of the financial system safer," the IMF said.
