The comet, officially recognized as 2015 TB145, has a few nicknames including 'Halloween asteroid', 'death comet' and 'The Great Pumpkin' by NASA. The 2000-foot-wide rock gets the name 'death comet' not only because of its human skull face, but because it's believed to have been long-dead. Numerous passes around the sun likely stripped the comet of its volatiles, according to Mother Nature Network. 'We found that the object reflects about 6 percent of the light it receives from the sun,' said Vishnu Reddy, a research scientist at the Planetary Science Institute in Tucson, Arizona said in 2015. 'That is similar to fresh asphalt, and while here on Earth we think that is pretty dark, it is brighter than a typical comet which reflects only 3 to 5 percent of the light. That suggests it could be cometary in origin — but as there is no coma evident, the conclusion is it is a dead comet,' Reddy said. The Green Bank Telescope in West Virginia captured the asteroid in the early morning hours of Halloween 2015 during a different period in its rotation. The 2015 flyby was the closest the eerie comet has come to earth. Both Israel And United States Warn Russia That Arming Syria With S-200 Surface-To-Air Missiles Would Be ‘Major Mistake’ by Geoffrey Grider Both Jerusalem and Washington warned Russia on Monday evening against its declared intention to provide the Syrian military with advanced surface-to-air missiles within two weeks, saying the move would further destabilize the region and increase already high tensions. Last week we told you that during an Israeli strike on an Iranian chemical depot near the Damascus Airport, the Syrian Air Force mistakenly fired on a Russian military jet killing all the servicemen who were onboard at the time. Netanyahu  met with Putin afterward, and the Russian leader appeared to accept Israel's version of how events transpired. Until today. Now Putin has announced that he is going to be arming Syria with the Russian-made S-200 surface-to-air-missile system over the next two weeks, and it has triggered an immediate and aggressive response from both Israel and the United States. FROM TIMES OF ISRAEL: Israel’s high-level security cabinet was set to meet Tuesday morning to discuss the latest developments. Russian President Vladimir Putin informed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of the decision to provide Syria with the S-300 system in a phone call Sunday. In response, according to a statement by Netanyahu’s office, “The prime minister said providing advanced weapons systems to irresponsible actors will magnify dangers in the region, and that Israel will continue to defend itself and its interests.” Concurrently US National Security Adviser John Bolton said Russia’s announcement  was a “major mistake” that would cause a “significant escalation” of  tensions. He urged Moscow to reconsider. Channel 10 News quoted a senior American official who noted that the system could endanger US Air Force jets operating against Islamic State in Syria. “Bringing more anti-aircraft missiles into Syria won’t solve the Syrian army’s unprofessional and indiscriminate firing of missiles and won’t mitigate the danger to aircraft flying in the area,” the unnamed official said. Russia made the announcement following last week’s downing of a Russian plane by Syria in a friendly fire incident that killed 15 Russia soldiers. The Russian military’s reconnaissance Ilyushin Il-20 was shot down by Syrian missile defense systems responding to an Israeli airstrike. READ MORE

The riots and protests generated by the 'March Of Return' movement have now lasted all spring, all summer, and here we are at fall with little evidence that they are slowing down anytime soon.  Israel has been observing their high holy days all month, with the Feast of Tabernacles starting on the 23rd and lasting until the 30th. Fifty-four others were hurt by live fire, the ministry said. It identified the dead man as Kareem Mohammad Kolab. “IDF troops are responding with riot dispersal means and are firing in accordance with standard operating procedures,” the army said. Palestinians also sent fire balloons and kites into Israel, causing at least seven blazes along the border. Palestinian sources said an IDF aircraft fired at a group launching incendiary devices. The IDF confirmed several strikes in northern Gaza but gave no further details. Firefighters were still battling four blazes, a spokesperson said on Friday evening. Gaza has seen a surge of violence since the start of the “March of Return” protests along the border in March. The clashes, which Gaza’s Hamas rulers have orchestrated, have included rock and Molotov cocktail attacks on troops, as well as attempts to breach the border fence and attack Israeli soldiers. Palestinians in Gaza have also launched incendiary airborne devices toward Israel, burning thousands of acres of forest and farmland resulting in millions of shekels of estimated damages. More than 130 Gazans have been killed by Israeli fire since the start of the clashes, according to AP figures. An Israeli soldier was shot to death by a Palestinian sniper. Hamas, an Islamist terror group that seized control of Gaza in 2007 and seeks to destroy Israel, has acknowledged that dozens of the Palestinian fatalities were its members. Additionally, Israel and Hamas have engaged in a number of brief exchanges of fire in recent months that have seen terror groups in Gaza launch hundreds of rockets and mortars toward Israeli territory, including one earlier this month that was the largest flareup in violence since the 2014 war. READ MORE
