As we look back, we see the fruits through the partners and prayer warriors all over the world that God has brought us. We have had many outreaches in the streets, in the malls, and in the houses. We had a year of many salvations, healings, many baptized / immersed, contacts and followup meetings with new believers in Messiah Yeshua. 

WHEN WILL POLITICIANS ACTUALLY DEFEND, SERVE, AND WORK FOR THEIR OWN COUNTRY??

Flooding cause that the Government would rather keep to itself

Author and former sheep farmer Philip Walling highlights one of the causes of the recent floods which officials aren't speaking about.

Amid all the devastation and recrimination over the floods in Cumbria hardly anybody mentions one factor that may not be the sole cause, but certainly hasn’t helped.

That is the almost complete cessation of dredging of our rivers since we were required to accept the European Water Framework Directive (EWF) into UK law in 2000.

Yet until then, for all of recorded history, it almost went without saying that a watercourse needed to be big enough to take any water that flowed into it, otherwise it would overflow and inundate the surrounding land and houses.

Every civilisation has known that, except apparently ours. It is just common sense. City authorities and, before them, manors and towns and villages, organised themselves to make sure their watercourses were cleansed, deepened and sometimes embanked to hold whatever water they had to carry away.

In nineteenth century Cockermouth they came up with an ingenious way of doing this. Any able-bodied man seeking bed and board for the night in the workhouse was required to take a shovel and wheelbarrow down to the River Derwent and fetch back two barrow-loads of gravel for mending the roads.

In Cumbria they knew they had to keep the river clear of the huge quantities of gravel that were washed down from the fells, especially in times of flood.

For Cumbrian rivers are notoriously quick to rise as the heavy rain that falls copiously on the High Fells rapidly runs off the thin soils and large surface area over which it falls.

Cumbrian people have always known that their rivers would be subject to such sudden and often violent inundations and prepared for them by deepening and embanking their channels. Such work was taken very seriously.

There are numerous records over many centuries of the Cockermouth Court Leet (Manor Court) imposing fines on occupiers for neglecting to cleanse the watercourses that ran through their land.

So important was it to prevent flooding that the court often issued detailed and explicit instructions to parishes how to cleanse their various watercourses.

For example in 1718 (and again in 1772) certain owners, whose land bordered the river, were fined for allowing it to become ‘beaten out of its course by sand and gravel’ and given two months to dredge it out.

It was obvious to people, who depended on the land for their living that failing to keep the rivers clear of sand and gravel would cause them to burst their banks and destroy in a few hours fertility that had taken generations to create, wash away their houses, and drown their livestock.

Last century the obligation to dredge out the rivers was transferred to local river boards, consisting of farmers and landowners who knew the area and its characteristics, and who had statutory responsibilities to prevent or minimise flooding.

But all this changed with the creation of the Environment Agency in 1997 and when we adopted the European Water Framework Directive in 2000. No longer were the authorities charged with a duty to prevent flooding. Instead, the emphasis shifted, in an astonishing reversal of policy, to a primary obligation to achieve ‘good ecological status’ for our national rivers. This is defined as being as close as possible to ‘undisturbed natural conditions’.

‘Heavily modified waters’, which include rivers dredged or embanked to prevent flooding, cannot, by definition, ever satisfy the terms of the directive.

So, in order to comply with the obligations imposed on us by the EU we had to stop dredging and embanking and allow rivers to ‘re-connect with their floodplains’, as the currently fashionable jargon has it.

And to ensure this is done, the obligation to dredge has been shifted from the relevant statutory authority (now the Environment Agency) onto each individual landowner, at the same time making sure there are no funds for dredging. And any sand and gravel that might be removed is now classed as ‘hazardous waste’ and cannot be deposited to raise the river banks, as it used to be, but has to be carted away.

On the other hand there is an apparently inexhaustible supply of grant money available for all manner of conservation and river ‘restoration’ schemes carried out by various bodies, all of which aim to put into effect the utopian requirements of the E W F Directive to make rivers as ‘natural’ as possible.

For example, 47 rivers trusts have sprung up over the last decade, charities heavily encouraged and grant-aided by the EU, Natural England, the Environment Agency, and also by specific grants from various well-meaning bodies such as the National Lottery, water companies and county councils.

The West Cumbria Rivers Trust, which is involved in the River Derwent catchment, and includes many rivers that have flooded, is a good example.

But they all have the same aim, entirely consonant with EU policy, to return rivers to their ‘natural healthy’ state, reversing any ‘straightening and modifying’ which was done in ‘a misguided attempt to get water off the land quicker’. They only think it ‘misguided’ because fast flowing water contained within its banks can scour out its bed and maybe wash out some rare crayfish or freshwater mussel, and that conflicts with their (and the EU’s) ideal of a ‘natural’ river .

The Environment Agency has spent millions of pounds on ‘flood defences’ yet still warns us that they are not guaranteed to work.

The climate is changing, they say, live with it. But the real reason they erect expensive and largely ineffective flood defences, as at Carlisle and Keswick, is because such work does not interfere with the flow of the river in its bed, so it does not infringe the EU Water Framework Directive.

Also there is EU money available for flood ‘defences’, but none for the very measure that would do some good, namely removing the huge build-up of gravel from the river bed. This is hardly mentioned, and if it is, they try to make out that it would do more harm than good.

Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi Tells Israel To Prepare To Meet ISIS Troops Face To Face by Geoffrey Grider The leader of the self-declared Islamic State issued a defiant message to the West, warning “crusaders” not to dare fight on his turf "Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion." Psalm 129:5 (KJV) In a rare public statement - his first in seven months - Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi said Western countries had "learned from" previous wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. "Crusaders and Jews don't dare to come on the ground because they were defeated in Iraq and Afghanistan," he said in a 23-minute long audio message released through an Isil-run internet account. The message - dubbed an "alternative Christmas broadcast" on social media - appeared to be an effort to rally Isil followers against the growing number of enemies arrayed against them. The leader, who has rarely been pictured and has not been heard from since he was believed to have been injured in an airstrike by Iraqi forces in October, Russian or US-led airstrikes had failed to weaken the group, which was only "expanding and getting stronger". "The Jews thought we forgot Palestine and that they had distracted us from it," he says in the recording. "Not at all, Jews. We did not forget Palestine for a moment.With the help of Allah, we will not forget it… The pioneers of the jihadist fighters will surround you on a day that you think is distant and we know is close. We are getting closer every day." Baghdadi had reportedly been seriously injured in a Iraqi airstrike in October. The leader is thought to constantly move between ISIL's strongholds of Raqqa, northeastern Syria, and Mosul, in Iraq, in a bid to avoid airstrikes. In the statement titled "Wait for we as well are waiting with you", Baghdadi boasted that the group had fought off advances in both Syria and Iraq. The militant Sunni Islamist group controls swathes of Iraq and Syria but has come under intensifying military pressure in recent weeks. On Saturday, Isil suffered a major blow after a US-backed alliance of Syrian Kurds and Arab rebel groups, backed by coalition planes, captured a dam from its fighters, cutting a main supply route of the militants across the Euphrates. Colonel Talal Selo said the rapid advance overnight by thousands of troops from the Democratic Forces of Syria had brought the dam, 15 miles upstream from the militants' de facto capital Raqqa, under their control on Saturday afternoon. Since the US-backed alliance was formed last October, its fighters have opened several major offensives against Islamic State with the ultimate goal of capturing Raqqa. source

More than 25 prominent rabbis from Israel and abroad recently issued a statement calling for a renewed look at Jesus, Christians and the New Testament faith. Quoting from their own sages, these outstanding  Orthodox rabbis are not ashamed to exalt the name of Jesus, welcoming the carpenter from Nazareth back into the Jewish fold.

“Jesus brought a double goodness to the world,”declare the group of well-known rabbis.  “On the one hand he strengthened the Torah of Moses majestically…  and not one of our Sages spoke out more emphatically concerning the immutability of the Torah,” and on the other hand “he removed idols from the nations.” 

Saying that Jesus, even more that any other Jewish Sage, honored, strengthened and protected the “immutability of the Torah,” is an extraordinary acknowledgement. These leading rabbis are turning the tides of history by removing one of the main stumbling blocks in the path of a major Jewish reclamation of Jesus!

You will recall, that religious Jews rejected Jesus from the beginning, with the accusation that he did not obey the Torah, therefore he could not be the awaited Messiah. In the New Testament, we find the Pharisees arguing with Jesus over Sabbath rules, dietary laws, ritual cleanliness, marriage regulations and more. They insisted that Jesus cannot be the Messiah because “he is teaching everywhere not to obey Moses.” (Acts 6:14) 

What we are now witnessing is the undoing of 2,000 years of Jewish rejection and animosity towards Jesus, a miracle by any estimation. For the out-and-out refusal by Jews to accept Jesus is slowly, but surely, coming to an end, as growing numbers of prestigious Orthodox rabbis welcome Jesus back.

And there is more. “After nearly two millennia of mutual hostility and alienation, we Orthodox Rabbis who lead communities, institutions and seminaries in Israel, the United States and Europe… seek to do the will of our Father in Heaven by accepting the hand offered to us by our Christian brothers and sisters,” the statement reads.

Two thousand years of Christian Anti-Semitism, Crusades, Inquisitions and a Holocaust can not keep the Star of Bethlehem from rising again in Israel. This call by these distinguished rabbis to embrace Christians as “brothers and sisters” is no less a miracle. For Jews to accept Christians with such endearment, after so much misunderstanding and anti-Semitic ugliness, can only be understood as a divine work of heavenly grace, the likes of which I find unfathomable.

For as this group of Orthodox rabbis points out, it is their “Father in Heaven” who is calling the Jewish people to lay down the past, put aside the enmity, and willingly embrace Christians and their faith in Jesus. That, my friends, is the deeper work of the Holy Spirit as spoken about throughout Scripture. 

As Rabbi Dr. Eugene Korn, Academic Director of the Center for Jewish-Christian Understanding & Cooperation points out, “This proclamation’s breakthrough is that influential Orthodox rabbis across all centers of Jewish life have finally acknowledged that…  Christianity and Judaism have much in common spiritually and practically. Given our toxic history, this is unprecedented in Orthodoxy.”

In their statement, the rabbis want to find a way to acknowledge the differences between Christian and Jewish beliefs, without taking, or giving, offensive. _“As did Maimonides and Yehudah Halevi, we acknowledge that Christianity is neither an accident nor an error, but the willed divine outcome and gift to the nations. In separating Judaism and Christianity, G-d willed a separation between partners with significant theological differences, not a separation between enemies,” _the statement concludes.

These so-called “significant theological differences” between Christianity and Judaism are really about Jesus. He is the stumbling block. Jesus may be Messiah, Son of the Living God for the Gentiles, but my Jewish people are still not quite sure just who he is for them. So while these rabbis are making major and unprecedented strides in bringing my people closer to Jesus, they are still far from the truth. For if Jesus is the Messiah for the Gentiles, how much more must he be for the Jews?

Perhaps Jesus will not quite be at home this Christmas in Israel, or Jewish homes around the world, but he is certainly knocking on the door.

GUIYANG, China — Pastor Su Tianfu slides into the back seat and tells the driver to hit it. He looks over his shoulder: “Is there anybody following us?” It is days before Christmas, but instead of working on his sermon, Su is giving his tail the slip. The slight and soft-spoken Protestant preacher is no stranger to surveillance. Su has worked for years in China’s unregistered “house churches,” and he said he has been interrogated more times than he can count. But even Su is surprised by what has happened in Guiyang this month: a crackdown that has led to the shuttering of the thriving Living Stone Church, the detention of a pastor on charges of “possessing state secrets” and the shadowing of dozens of churchgoers by police. A local government directive leaked to China Aid, a Texas-based Christian group, and reviewed by The Washington Post advises local Communist Party cadres that shutting down the church is necessary to “maintain social stability”— a catchall phrase often used to justify sweeping clampdowns. The Dec. 9 raid on the church in a relatively sleepy provincial capital is conspicuous because of the timing — about two weeks before Christmas — and because the government’s tactics were revealed. But it also speaks to a broader pattern of religious repression that is playing out beyond China’s mountainous southwest, as the officially atheist Communist Party struggles to control the spread of religion amid a broader push to thwart dissent. “The overall environment in the past few years has been harsh,” said Yang Fenggang, director of Purdue University’s Center on Religion and Chinese Society. “There’s a tightened control over civil society in general, including churches.” A question of faith Unlike in many parts of the West, Christianity is thriving in China. Because of tight restrictions on religious practices, reliable figures are hard to find, but the Chinese government generally puts the number of Protestants (a group it calls “Christians”) at23 million and the number of Catholics at more than 5 million. Foreign scholars estimate that there are 67 million to 100 million Christians in China — compared with 87 million Communist Party cadres. Yang estimates that China will be home to 250 million Christians by 2030. Evangelical Protestants, like Su, are the fastest-growing group. The Communist Party has a complicated, often contradictory, view of faith: The constitution protects the right to religion, but the state is unwilling to relinquish control. “The Chinese Communist Party is violently allergic to non-party organizing vehicles, whether they’re nonprofits, libraries or churches,” said Sophie Richardson, China director at Human Rights Watch. That means you can be a Christian, a Tibetan Buddhist or a Muslim, but only on the government’s terms. Christians must limit themselves to “normal religious activity” at a state-backed church, where party dogma trumps religious doctrine and where proselytizing is forbidden. Local officials decide what “normal” means — and what is legal. That level of discretion gives authorities wide berth to close churches, tear down crosses orarrest Christian campaigners as they see fit — a sore point between the United States and China. This summer, Chinese authorities arrested Zhang Kai, a lawyer fighting the removal of crosses in Zhejiang province, just days before the arrival of the U.S. envoy for international religious freedom, David Saperstein, and weeks before President Xi Jinping’s state visit to the United States. Christianity has a long history here. Foreign missionaries have been working in rural Guizhou province, of which Guiyang is the capital, since the 1800s, spreading the faith among ethnic minorities in villages that dot the region’s thimble-shaped peaks. The pogroms of the Cultural Revolution led to the destruction of most churches and the persecution of many Christians, but the faith survived here quietly. China’s economic expansion has since brought many of the villagers to towns and cities, where a sense of social dislocation and a longing for community are fueling a religious awakening. When Living Stone was founded in 2009, it had about 30 members. By the time the church closed, services drew several hundred people at a time, according to interviews with seven members. Here, as elsewhere, unregistered “house churches” operate in a gray zone — they are thriving but illegal, always at risk and sometimes ignored. As such, it is hard to know why and when crackdowns will occur. A turning point for Living Stone seems to have been the acquisition of a meeting place. Church members pooled their money and last year took possession of a 7,000-square-foot space on the 24th floor of an office building called the Guiyang International Center. Authorities let them meet there, sometimes, urging them to keep the gatherings small and social, not religious. After more than a year of warnings, arrests and threats, church members were given an ultimatum: Join a state-backed church or get shut down. On Dec. 9, officials and security personnel swarmed the property, taking Bibles and songbooks. A colleague of Su’s, Pastor Yang Hua, was detained when he tried to block police from taking security footage and computer equipment, two witnesses said. The day he was to be released, he was detained again, this time on charges of “possessing state secrets.” Now, at the Guiyang International Center, the elevator no longer stops at the 24th floor, and police guard the entrance to the church. “This is the site of an illegal cult and has been banned,” one officer yelled. “We are here to stop people from joining.” They may succeed — for now. Local officials say Living Stone’s members can join a state-backed church, and some probably will. But many of Living Stone’s faithful would sooner relinquish Christianity altogether than join a government church. “When it comes to our faith, we do not want to submit ourselves to a political organization. Our only leader is God in heaven,” said Zhang Tan, a church member who used to work for the local government. Su said he would continue to worship on his own terms, even if it meant holding this year’s Christmas service at home. “Faith and love of God cannot be chained,” he said.source

The Burden of Damascus - Russian S400 May Speed Up Prophetic Timeframe

The strategic balance of power in the Middle East has shifted. The United States of America and their NATO partners have been comprehensively outmaneuvered. Israel has been comprehensively outmaneuvered. Russia has outflanked them all.

Russia has moved at a staggering pace effectively to invade and secure huge swathes of Syrian territory. Their military can now operate relatively unimpaired and without any decisive threats to them. From their base, carved out in and around Latakia, Russia has used huge force-projection by air to push back and diminish ISIS control and influence in Syria.

Russia has done more to degrade and defeat ISIS in a matter of weeks than America, Britain, France and all their other partners have managed in months.

This is a full scale invasion of Syria by Russia and, at this point, short of total war, there is almost nothing anybody can do to stop them. Russia is in Syria for the long term and each day that passes solidifies Putin’s grip on this strategically crucial country.

Putin’s long-term aims in Syria are also becoming increasingly transparent. A doomed Russian economy simply cannot support such a lengthy foreign military adventure, especially on such a vast scale. Putin and Russia are not in Syria to defend Bashir al-Assad or destroy ISIS as many are blandly stating; these issues are but a means to an end.

Russia is there to pacify the country so that they can develop a platform in Syria through which they can then dominate the rest of the Middle East region. Russia has come to Syria in order to pillage the Middle East. No doubt at some point in the future they will attempt to pillage Israel too.

Though the invasion of Syria by Russia has clear and unmistakable prophetic implications it is, surprisingly, not as prophetically significant as another recent development. The introduction on a large scale of the S300 and S400 mobile missile interception platforms by Russia has truly stunning prophetic implications.

This could be one of the most striking prophetic developments of recent times because of its direct consequences for Israel and its potential to fulfill specific Bible prophecy. The introduction of this weapon to the Syrian battlefield has moved the fulfillment of the prophecy of the Burden of Damascus further forward than anything else before it.

The reason for this is because Israel is a country that lacks strategic depth; Israel is too small. Israel is a very narrow, small strip of land which backs up against the sea. At its narrowest point it is only 9 miles, and only 24 miles from its border with Syria to the sea. This has a number of serious consequences for Israel.

Firstly, it means that if Israel faced simultaneous attacks from multiple enemies from multiple directions, as in 1967, they lack the strategic depth to rally their troops effectively and move them in time to meet the oncoming invasions using conventional military forces.

Secondly, it also means that in the next major war, because of developments in rocket technology and the sheer size of the arsenals Israel’s enemies, like Hezbollah, can bring to bear, all of Israel would become the front line. Israel’s defensive solutions like Iron Dome would be utterly swamped by the sheer number of incoming attacks.

Terrible though all these problems are, they are dwarfed by the potential threat of the S300 and S400 Russian surface to air mobile missile batteries. These are some of the most sophisticated and deadly surface to air missiles on earth.

Notwithstanding the possibility that Israel has developed a method of defeating this weapon, otherwise they are in deep trouble. It is common knowledge that Russia has been shipping into Syria substantial numbers of S300’s. What is less well-known is that they have been augmenting these with the upgraded variant, the S400.

Experts describe these as “scary weapons,” for good reason. In the face of these weapons America, Britain, France and Israel’s trillion dollar fighter programs are completely obsolete.

Even America’s brand new $500 million F-35 stealth fighter cannot defeat the S400. With a tracking range of 600 km and the ability to hit targets 400 km away at a blistering speed of 17,000 km an hour – faster than any existing aircraft–the S-400 is a truly scary weapon if you are facing it in combat.

Each S-400 battalion has eight launchers, a control center, radar and 16 missiles available as reloads. The S400 completely nullifies Israel and NATO’s air forces, not at a theoretical level but at the battle-tested operational level of war.

Unlike the US Patriot Missile system, which is a failure, this system actually works in combat. To illustrate just how deadly this missile system is consider this: if an S400 were fired from Damascus, it would be able to blow away an aircraft over central Tel Aviv in about 107 seconds.

This is prophetic for the following, chilling reason: because Israel lacks strategic depth and is too narrow, if the Russians placed these batteries near Israel they would be able immediately and completely to defeat the Israeli Air Force.

The umbrella provided by the S400 would engulf Israel. These S400 batteries have in fact been sighted near the border of Israel. The IAF is nullified if Russia so wishes. Israel can no longer defend itself by conventional means of war against Russian or Iranian aggression from Syria.

This means that the only tactical recourse Israel would have to respond to an attack would be to resort to non-convention forms of combat, to the use of Weapons of Mass Destruction. It means Israel’s only remaining option for defense and/or retaliation is through the use of a tactical nuclear weapon sitting on top of a ballistic missile.

It is the only thing in Israel’s arsenal fast enough and maneuverable enough capable of defeating the S400.
